As schools and local organizations close or postpone events to try and limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus, we’re doing our best to keep you informed on what’s going on in the North Country thanks to our friends at Adirondack Trust Company.  If you know of an event that has been postponed or cancelled, or a business that is closing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, please let us know and we will add it to the list below!


PLEASE NOTE: Adirondack Broadcasting is currently CLOSED TO ALL VISITORS until further notice.   If you need to reach us regarding general inquiries, prize pick-up arrangement, deliveries or to send us important information you need broadcast to our audience, please call our front desk at 518-793-7733 and leave a message.  If it is regarding advertising, please give Tom Jacobsen a call at 518-615-1000.  We will announce here and on social media when we re-open to the public.   We appreciate your understanding and patience in the matter.

AT THE ORDER OF GOVERNOR ANDREW CUOMO, ALL BARS, RESTAURANTS, MOVIE THEATERS AND CASINOS WILL BE CLOSING TO THE PUBLIC AT 8:00PM ON MONDAY, MARCH 16TH.
Bars and restaurants may remain open, but only for takeout or delivery.  No sit-down service.  Check with your food establishment to verify whether or not they’re open before you head out.

Cool Insuring Arena – Closed until March 30th at the earliest.
Glens Falls Family YMCA – Closed until March 23rd at the earliest
Crandall Public Library – Closed until April 13th.   Due books and materials granted extension until April 20th.
Christ Church United Methodist Church, 54 Bay St. – All Sunday worship in-person services cancelled until April 8th; Pastor Meredith Vanderminden will live-stream sermons Sunday mornings at 10 a.m.
Hyde Collection – Closed until further notice.
Chapman Museum – Closed for a minimum of 2 weeks.
Wood Theater – Closed until April 14th.

QUEENSBURY
Sprinkles Ice Cream Shoppe – Seasonal Opening has been delayed.
Six Flags Indoor Water Park – Closed through March 31st.
Queensbury Recreation – All current activities and all activities to start this month have been suspended.
Queensbury United Methodist Church – All Sunday Worship services cancelled through April 6th.  Pastor Brooke Newell will livestream sermons.
Warren County Historical Society – Closed until April 19th, all events and programs will be rescheduled.

Our Town Theater Group, North Creek – Odd Couple performances are cancelled
Bolton Free Library – All library programs and group meetings cancelled through April 1st; includes Community Health Series talk with Linda Perry on Wednesday 3/18.

Kingsbury Volunteer Fire Department, Kingsbury – Monday night bingo is cancelled until further notice.
St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s, Hudson Falls – Closed for all masses and activities until further notice.
Hudson Falls United Methodist Church – All Sunday worship services and church-related activities are cancelled until April 6th.   Pastor Kim Reed will record Sunday services and post them to www.hudsonfallsumc.org.

 – Closed for all masses and activities until further notice.
Broadway Lanes, Fort Edward & Slate Valley Lanes, Granville – Closed until further notice.

SARATOGA COUNTY

Saratoga Springs History Museum – Closed.
Saratoga Casino and Hotel – Casino closing Monday 3/16 @ 8:00pm.  Hotel remains open.
South Glens Falls Village Hall – Closed until further notice.
WSWHE BOCES Conference Center, Wilton – Women in Trades Expo on March 31st is cancelled.

BEYOND THE TRI-COUNTIES
AMTRAK has suspended service on the Adirondack Line from Albany to Montreal.   It will only serve rail passengers between Albany and New York City.  For Fort Edward and Saratoga Springs rail travelers, this does not impact the ETHAN ALLEN EXPRESS line that goes between Rutland, VT and New York City daily.

All Catholic Masses in the Albany Diocese have been suspended until further notice. Churches will remain open for private prayer, weddings and funerals.
Ticonderoga Sons of the American Legion Squadron 224 – March 26th lasagna dinner postponed.
Adirondack Mountain Club closed its lodging facilities and High Peaks Information Center through April 30. Parking lots will remain open for hikers.
Trout Unlimited’s Adirondack Chapter – April 4th annual banquet cancelled.
NY State MuseumNY State Library & NY State Archives, Albany – closed
Pawlet Community Church, Pawlet, VT –  Public suppers cancelled until further notice.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Warren and Essex Counties will be closing their offices effective 12:00noon on Wednesday 3/18 until further notice.   All programs, including 4-H club meetings, have been cancelled.

Bowl for Kid’s Sake Postponed:
Due to the unprecedented health risks associated with the spread of the COVID-19 and the concerted effort of organizations at all levels to do their share to reduce those risks, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks will postpone our upcoming Bowl for Kids’ Sake event. We have made arrangements to reschedule this event to the following times;

Friday, May 15th at 6:30 pm Saturday, May 16th at 12:30 pm Sunday, May 17th at 12:30 pm Sunday, May 17th at 3:30 pm

Registered bowlers are asked to call the BBBS office at 518-798-1010 to reschedule your bowling time. Any bowler/team unable to reschedule are asked to participate in our virtual bowling party. More information will be forthcoming in the next several days.

BBBS’s School-Based programs have been suspended until further notice in accordance with the guidance of public health and the school districts


MEALS ON WHEELS in Warren and Hamilton Counties needs your help!
They’re looking for younger volunteers that could  help deliver meals three days a week to seniors who are dependent on these meals to eat daily.
